Christmas was once a special time to be a gamer. Whilst the shelves bloat like a post mince pie binge from a slew of brilliant titles; where is that festive soul and charming cachet? Any gamer who grew up with classic 8-bit and 16-bit home computers will recall this time with a certain savour, perhaps even dribbling slightly, as a dog tormented with a dangled Bonio. The magazines of the time often gave away Christmas-themed games, or demos; which is a lost art in this rather more corporate gaming milieu. Grand me a little of your time, and let us consider some of those legendary examples from happier days. And go easy on the biscuits. |
