Anyway, here’s my special dozen for 2012.

That’s right it’s Christmas and to celebrate we had a live show where we just chatted really with no real format, but there was still plenty of gaming talk. We also had live callers Antonio and Chris to help us celebrate and as always Jason Gol%%$$£@##@r and Vlados had a thing or two to say about
I’m not going to gripe this time (except in part three), because I want to make clear how much I enjoyed this game. It is now in my All Time Top Ten, and I am grateful to everyone who insisted that I play it. (Special thanks again to Amras from The Gamesmen for the gift. As a Buddhist, I prefer to receive the contentment that comes from not having new things to which I become attached. But this was one Christmas present I was happy to get.) WARNING: Major spoilers ahead!
I will begin by thanking Amras from The Gamesmen for being the one who finally forced me to play The Walking Dead by gifting it to me on Steam. (I was told, erroneously, by the website Can I Play It? that it would not work on my machine. I’ve since heard folks say that such websites operate on wild speculation and should not be trusted.) I agree with all of the superb reviews I’ve encountered, and I’m happy to admit that I was foolish to avoid playing this game for so long. I’ve only finished Chapter One, and I’m eager to play the rest. That said, three problems are picking at my brain, and I want to get them out before I proceed with the rest of this superb adventure. These are concerns I’ve had with other games, so please don’t think I’m picking on Telltale Games. It’s also worth noting that I’m quite impressed by the storytelling, character development, dialogue, and pacing of this game so far. This article contains spoilers for Chapter One of The Walking Dead, as well as Mass Effect and Heavy Rain.
This past summer I wrote an editorial for Veteran Gamers in response to a promotional article for an e-book called The Demise of Guys. In the article, the book’s authors drew highly irresponsible and sensationalistic connections between video games such as Call of Duty and World of Warcraft, and the shooting tragedy in Norway in 2011. Here we are a week removed from another horrific tragedy here in the U.S. An elementary school shooting in which 26 lives were extinguished in mere minutes by a single gunman. 20 of them young children ages 6 and 7.
