So the final big one hits and it is all about the Wii U and how it will change how we play games using two screens, so let’s see what they had on show and whether it will make you part with your billy bucks when the console is released.
They started out with Pikmin 3 coming to Wii U, it will use the Wii Remote and Nunchuck, but also make use of the Wii U Game Pad to give an over the top view of the game for a more strategic control of the game.
Next up Mii Verse, which is a sort of gathering place for Miis to put comments and communicate.
Then came Super Mario Brothers U, which looked like all the other Super Mario games, with added Mii Verse functionality.
Then came some announcements aimed squarely at core gamers, starting with Batman Arkham City – Armored Edition, which adds scanning and Baterang control with the game pad.
Next up Scribblenauts Unlimited, which is more of the same.
Then a montage of other 3rd party titles which included: Darksiders 2, Mass Effect 3, Tank Tank Tank, Tekkan Tag, Trine 2, Ninja Gaidan 3 and Aliens Colonial Marines.
Then Wii Fit U, Sing and then a cursory mention of the 3DS and that it would be having it’s own show, which is kinda cool.
Then the game that impressed me the most, Lego City Undercover, which is essentially Lego GTA, it looked very nice, but talking Lego characters will take some getting used to.
Then Ubisoft came out to tout it’s Wii U titles, the pick of which was Zombi U, which looked to combine frantic gameplay and decent graphics all combined with an interesting use of the Wii U Game Pad.
They finished off with the very Nintendo, Nintendoland, a theme park made up of mini games especially for the Wii U and that’s your lot.
Will add a video when one is available.

rubbish so far. lets see in a year..
Still focusing on the casual games, I’m a bit disappointed if I’m honest, for me they needed something like BF3 with 64 players to show they meant business when it comes to attracting a larger core player base and the ability to compete with the other 2 next gen consoles.
I was expecting at least a new Zelda game to be teased. Having said that i will pick one up at some point if its in and around he £200-250 mark (any more would be suicide for what is effectively power equivalent based on games shown to 360 and PS3).
Adventure Time.
Castlevania.
Paper Mario.
Sadly, if any really fantastic games come out on a Nintendo console, as is the case with really good PC games… they will get ported. Exclusives, which Nintendo used to have a good grasp on, are becoming a poor reason to go with any particular console. Xbox still seems to me to be the middling ground where most everything ends up.
