Oh wow, I remember so many of those. Jazz Jackrabbit. Commander Keen. Populous. Currently replaying Wolfenstein 3D on iOS.
Yes Andrew, I spent many many happy hours with Settlers. I still love that type of game.
ah Tie fighter and syndicate wars. The term classic is over used, but applicable in this case.
Never played setlers as I wasnt able to run it at the time.

I’ve played or know nearly all of those. That made me extremely nostalgic. Games like Magic Carpet are entirely forgotten now and just a small handful got remakes that remind people they ever existed. My GF actually made a good observation that while games (mainstream) are getting more detailed they are losing a lot of the original appeal they held in originality and true innovation. When did graphic whoring become more important than gameplay and design? I do miss the 90′s for gaming, was a real golden age.
Secret of Monkey Island, Day of The Tenticle, Another World and Beneath a Steel Sky, so many classic games, very cool!
It just reminds you of when having ‘Lucasarts’ written on a game was a badge of quality. What was the first game that they produced that dropped that ball?
I’m replaying Secret of Monkey Island on XBLA at the moment. So cool, a true classic.

I agreed with the quality of lucas arts games but then i saw the above.
50/50 hit rate for Lucas arts. What do you guys think? the Xwing games and the graphic adventure games were amongst the best games of that Gen but everything else was average I recon.
