The Veteran Gamers/Overseas Connection Walking Dead Spoiler Cast

Welcome to a very special edition of the podcast where we join forces with the Overseas Connection to talk all things Walking Dead.

Stu and Duke are joined by Greg and Rich and we spend two hours going over the whole of The Walking Dead, discussing how our choices differed, how the game made us feel and ultimately if any of those choices made any difference.

Enjoy.

SPOILERS!!! Yes I am a father therefor this game made me cry. I never punched an A button faster than when I choked a stranger. I saved a NERD because the girl had a gun to protect herself.
Questions: What happens if you agree to let the cancer survivor doctor take Clementine to care for her as a parent would? Remember that, when you had the option to dump her off and not care for her anymore? Duke, Kenny is a wack job and when he watched me being attacked outside the barn crapping himself I put him in the Ben category; why would you let him be Clem’s guardian? Greg, what happens if you don’t put the zombie child out of its misery, can it attack you later on in the attick. Though I enjoyed the spoiler cast, man you guys have odd reasoning. I won’t address the many issues I had but I will discuss a few. The way I played this game was as true to life as possible. There was an innocent child with no parents and I made it my job to protect her. That meant waking her up to the realities of the disgusting world we were in. Carly, Larry and Kenny didn’t stand a chance, I was the leader of the group. So when it came down to killing two cannibals (the exact number of figures you see walking after the credits roll) that were ready to drug Clementine while they slowly ate her alive, I took zero issue in killing them. To say they were not an immediate threat is a little strange Duke whether in a trap or not. It was a brutal world and I was there to protect and teach Clementine to survive. Stu, I started doing this way before Chuck, the haircut, the gun, rubbing zombie guts…(which led to this Rich…me revealing to everyone I was bitten and a potential future risk to Clementine), and yes her final lesson in killing me something everyone in this world has to learn to do, kill people they care for. I turned down every alcoholic drink offered in game because I needed to be sober to care for this little girl but when I had them chop off my arm so that I could go save her I finally hit the bottle to deal with the pain and massive blood loss that really should have killed me but hey it’s a game.. The way I look at it the whole game I was trying to save Clem but in the end she wound up saving me. I’ll miss you Clementine.

    Game of the Year!

Forgot about them offering to take her, weirdly I took that personally, and was also like, I don’t even know you and you’re making judgements about me!

As for drinking, I think I might have had a slug in the attic with Kenny, as a bit of a white flag, as I wasn’t his favorite person.

Nice thoughts Jason, but you are right the number one aim was to protect Clem.

Not sure about the Doctors offer but if you didn’t take care of the see through boy in the attic one of the others came up and done the dirty work. You still hand to bury the lad.

Great imagination linking the cannibals to the folk on the hill. My cannibals were zombie food.

I had a job to do. Where I’m going, you can’t follow. What I’ve got to do, you can’t be any part of. Clemintine, I’m no good at being noble, but it doesn’t take much to see that the problems of three little people don’t amount to a hill of beans in this crazy world. Someday you’ll understand that.

    Think I’ll play it again……

  • DukeSkath

You made someone else cut your arm off? Wuss.

I figured I would “throw Kenny a bone” as he seemed so eager to bash in Larry’s melon, even as I just happened to barley get Larry breathing again. Sawing off my arm probably helped his diminishing and deranged mental state. Besides it was good practice for him in case he “made it” in the alley. I’m sure if he made it he at least got nibbled on a bit and might have felt the need to chop something off of his own. I wish along with Larry on ep 2 I would have told Kenny to “dig in” to the leg as well. At least I didn’t have to put up with Larry’s mouth anymore and at least we agree that Larry was an idiot but Kenny was a huge wuss. My Lee was the complete opposite.
