Sony E3 – So What Happened There Then?

So Sony have had their E3 hurrah, but was it enough to pull the rug out from under Microsoft’s feet?

Well lets break down what happened and see.

To start off we were given a large demo of Killzone 3, and I have to say it looked pretty good, the Jet-pack usage looked smooth, and as expected it impressed Graphically, it was also emphasized that it would be in 3D and released on the 11th of February 2011, and not forgetting Move utilization.

After all had gone quiet Jack Tretton appeared on stage, and babbled on about 3D for a while, and then onto Move, the first game to be shown was Sorcery, although I’m not bothered about Move, it was interesting.

So Move was given a release date and priced, it will be released on September 15th 2010 in Europe, September 19th America and October 21st in Japan, the price will be $49.99 for the controller and $29.99 for the sub controller, the 1-1 was very impressive

Heroes On The Move will be Move only, the game will feature Ratchet, Jak, Sly Cooper, Daxter, Clank and Bentley.

It looks like a platform game with all your favorite Sony characters .

Next up Little Big Planet 2, not only a platform game, but an everything game, puzzler, shooter, racing, RPG, literally whatever you can create, this is indie games without the developing tools.

EA came on, and showed off Medal Of Honor, with beard DLC apparently, then came Dead Space 2 which looked fantastic, not only that, but it will be bundled with Dead Space Extraction if you have Move.

Then came the big surprise, Gabe Newell appeared on stage to eat a large piece of humble pie, and announced that Portal 2 would be on PS3, not only that, but he claimed it would be the best console version, as it would include Steamworks, which may mean community made maps being available, a big claim.

Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood, was up next, the first multipayer footage, not only that, but exclusive beta for PS3 owners.

The multiplayer looked cool, it looked very unpredictable and tactical.

Then it was time for a big announcement, we finally have a date for GT5 and that date is November 2nd 2010, yes that is this year, oh and you might be able to drive as The Stig.

Infamous 2 was next, not too much info I’m afraid, but it did look quite good, and somehow reminded me of Mirror’s Edge.

Finally the end, and a the big one, a new Twisted Metal for the PS3 exclusively, I have never played one before, so it is hard for me to make a judgment, but what I did see was Clowns with their hair on fire and lots of carnage.

And that was about it, I was sad not to see any more on The Last Guardian, but I guess you can’t have everything.

Dude! No Team Ico? I thought the HD redux thing was a lock!?

Watching Sony’s convention was like watching a house cat try to scare off a bear. Maybe if the fur puffs out a little more it confuse the bear into thinking it is bigger. Sorry Duke, Sony was too busy showing off all the exclusive ‘content’ they’ll get for the cross-platform games that are coming out. I wouldn’t of minded seeing Last Guardian and the bit with Sweet Tooth was actually pretty disturbing, the crowd just kind of went dead. Just remember, more precise and it has buttons damn it! It’s not a fricken Wii remote for the last time! IT’S TOTALLY DIFFERENT! YOU JUST DONT UNDERSTAND!

Not feeling Infamous 2, it looks like they tried to make him more like Nathan Drake which doesn’t really fit with the dark tone of the first game.
