Everyone who listens to the VeteranGamers podcast knows that there is no bigger Skyrim fanboy than I. Likewise, everyone who listens to the show also knows that no game has captivated me quite like Skyrim has. Three playthroughs, putting me at 300 hours or so total game time.
I’d wager that no one in the US purchased the new Skyrim DLC Dawnstar before I did. As a teacher, my body is accustomed to waking up at 5:30 AM, and it doesn’t just go away in the summertime. So it was that on Tuesday I leapt out of bed and began the download. (Before it was even a featured item on the XBox Dashboard, ha!)
In two days I have finished the main storyline and acquired most of the new achievements. I can’t be totally comprehensive, for reasons that will soon be made clear. I will, however, avoid spoilers and try to keep this short.
The verdict: It’s good, but not great.
