An interesting headline from BusinessWeek today: If You Can Ace ‘Guitar Hero’, You Can Remove A Pancreas.

Researchers at La Sapienza University of Rome in Italy had medical residents play video games on the Nintendo Wii for an hour a day for four weeks and found that doing so actually made them more adept at performing laparoscopic surgery.

Red Steel 2 “Has To Succeed” Says Developer

“It was clear from the beginning we had to succeed. It was absolutely crucial,” Vandenberghe explained, continuing, “It was obvious that, if Red Steel 2 came out and it was not well-received by the fans, we were done. There would be no Red Steel 3. There would be no point in continuing that: Once is an offense, twice is a pattern.”

Unfortunately, it doesn’t look good for Red Steel 2, if the sales of recent Wii games (other than, Just Dance and Wii Sports Resorts) are anything to go by.
