Gaming Headphones

Postby Chrismjw » 26 Feb 2012, 20:28

My Phillips wireless headphones have just died and I have started looking for a replacement, mostly for use with my PS3. I've been looking at Turtle Beaches as I hear good things with the PX3s currently looking the most promising to get what I want within my budget (i've set about 60 quid but that may change as these things often do). I want them to be wireless with a mic and would rather surround sound but appreciate that's unlikely for that price range.

I just wondered if any of you have sage advice on this or could recommend an alternative to the PX3s?

I got PX5s.
love them.
but way over priced.
mind you I got them on a trade in deal our local store had.

in general Turtle Beaches are decent,
these are supposed to be at least as good : http://store.gameshark.net/TRITTON/265
had a quick look in Maplins (any excuse..) these seem a good deal : http://www.maplin.co.uk/sennheiser-pc33 ... set-506551
although can't speak to that set, but Sennheiser have a good name.
currently playing;
PSVita Urban trials and Alien Breed
Ain't got time for anything else!

Thanks Stu, appreciated. I know I want the PX5s but I just can't justify the cost at the moment (the wife would go freakin nuts!). I'll check those other ones out and carry on reading reviews...

I was looking into the Sony official headset, and that looks good. I have Tritton 720s that I like, but for the Price the Sony ones seemed decent.

For me the S.T.C's have been the very best for my PS3.

They come in wireless and wired.

The wired version that I have has 12ft of play in the connection which is fantastic.

They are well priced and come in a ton of colours and ear sizings.

Your can't go wrong with these.

So how did you go with your headphone selection Chris?

I'm heading to the US end of August and was gonna try and pick up some headphones cheap but am quite honestly overwhelmed by all the different headphones they have out there now.

It didn't go well to be honest. I found an old pair of wired ones which I've been using and thought I'd wait til Christmas to take the plunge. Good luck with your search though and have a great time in the US.

Thanks man.

Im thinking of going for the Triton AX Pros as they are sort of mid range price wise and seem to have alright reviews.

I've got PX21's which were exactly £59.99 and the bonus is that they work with my Xbot as well :-)
