This could just as easily be said about WoW or any game with opposing factions, which is every single MMO in existance. So what keeps those other players from making my life miserable while I attempt to level up my fake hero/villian?

i think you would find that most MMORPGS have either modes or areas set aside for PVP and anything outside of that is frowned on fairly heavily i know in my 8 months or so of playing LOTRO this was the case and my son played WOW for around 2 years where for the most part outside of certain conditions PVP is most definatly considered bad form and PVE is the thing. i would expect this sort of thing to happen in this game and while i am not about to pay £10/$15 per month to play this. i would say that if you play the part of a villian you must expect at least 1 hero to come after you

to put my point into another perspective i Quanrian i have just picked up mind jack and a very heavy part of the gameplay is that you jump into someone elses game now you set wether you want to play as part of the ai team or as player backup when you hit the multiplayer menu so if i constantly choose the red team (AI) is that griefing or just game play

I imagine most people do chose to oppose the other player and this might be part of why it has been rated so poorly since the co-op potentional sounds quite appealing. Obviously just doing it here and there is not griefing, we're talking about people who dedicate their time to getting so good at the game that they know how to do something to make other people miserable why they attempt to enjoy the experience. By the way you know you just mind-jacked Xun's thread right ?

Dc Universe, Dave, I agree with your comments about this, it is not grieving, especially with mind jack, it is how the game let's you play and even encourages you to play!

Villains and heroes fight each other, that's the bloody point! When people play COD it is to sides stopping the other by killing them, nearly all online games have the same idea, prevent the other player from doing what they have to do, be that killing you.

Griefing is like if someone joins me in saints row and starts killing me over and over or if someone joins my fable world and kicks the s*** out of my villagers. That ruins the game experience, the hero v villain thing IS the experience here.

Lol :) I hate having to agree with one person over another on anything but I just really can't see how that is grieving because the reason the majority of people will buy and play DC is to fight other people, hero players will want to fight villains and vice versa...

Just the point of the game.
